I find the Sphinx to be one of the most incredible mythological creatures. It has such a long and diverse influence throughout the world. Every time I see an ancient sphinx, I cannot help but to simply stop and marvel at its beauty.

British Museum - The Sabean Sphinx
The Sabaean kingdom was located in what is now the Aseer region in southwestern Yemen. They left behind many inscriptions in the monumental Musnad (Old South Arabian) alphabet, as well as numerous documents in the cursive Zabur script. Found in Isaiah 45. You can read more at THIS site.
