Well we finally made it. I have now lived in Europe 4 times, and I finally made it to the Frankfurt Temple. Granted when we lived in Madrid we tried to go to the temple there but we were only in Madrid during the time it was closed for deep cleaning, so we never made it inside. We spent all day chasing trains, and taking a few taxis got get to Frankfurt on time (actually the temple is about 13 miles away from the city) and made it at 4:45 for the 5 o'clock session, and managed to drop the kids off with the babysitter they graciously found us, drop off our luggage in lodging, change into church clothes to run underground (reverently of course) to rent temple clothing, change, get paperwork and headsets and managed not to hold things up. There was a group from France at the temple while we were there.
difference between the two pictures, you will see that the steeple with Moroni is not actually on top of the temple, but on a pillar in front of the temple, so when you look head on things look right, but it is actually two pieces. Apparently, it was a compromise with the local church, because they did not want Moroni to be higher than their own steeple, so he was set upon his own, shorter, pillar.
