By Wednesday we had made friends and one invited us to come up to the Partnachklamm Gorge with her and her aunt. We had been told it was a great thing to do and very close to the hotel, so we rode up and parked at Olympia Skistadion. It was built when the Olympics were in the area in 1936, and it is currently being renovated foruse in the Alpine Ski World Championship in 2009.
The gorge was truly amazing. The water running through was fast moving and an silvery turquoise color from all of the calcium build up. It was quite steep on all sides and I was able to capture what I think was a pretty nice view of the light coming through the gorge (honestly, it looks more amazing in the photo even than in real life).
