Snake castle, Yilankale, is almost like a mascot around here. It's the closest castle to base, about 35K, so it's easy to get to though not easy to climb.
I figured we needed to make sure Kristin got to see a Crusader's castle too, and travel the "Silk Road" so we just by-passed home and kept driving east from Adana to the castle.
The funniest thing happened though. Not two minutes after we pulled into the parking lot our friends the Carpenters and the Recksicks pulled up behind us. We couldn't have planned it better unless we carpooled. So we had friends to hike with on the way up, and to help take kids up the steep path. It's pretty tricky occasionally, though little feet seem to take the rocks better, but the fall if you misstep is ugly.
(Here is Arcadia cleaning up her friend Dallin with a wet wipe. He got out of the car with chocolate all over his face and she couldn't stand to look at the mess.)
