So we bundled up and went out for a look-see. The kids listened to a story by Mrs. Claus (the other one, not me) and Matthijas saw Santa, again. This time Santa asked him questions and he was able to answer. He still doesn't know if he was a good boy or what he wants for Christmas but mommy knows how to answer those questions.
As we walked through checking out the styles and prices we came upon a small group of 3 blue spruce trees. They were beautiful and somehow, much cheaper than all the others. Johannes had an attack of nostalgia for the blue spruces he had planted with his family in their front yard in Spokane. So, in the sparkling blink of Mr. Claus' eye our family came home with a REAL Christmas tree. And it is beautiful.
Here are the kids and Johannes saying "BLUE SPRUCE!"
Congrats on the REAL tree. Looks like Johann got caught on the "ooo".
ReplyDeleteYeah, those farm trees are definitely fuller/ prettier. There not like the Charlie Brown trees we normally cut in the mountains, but any real tree will help the house smell Christmasey. There's just something about a real tree at Christmas.
ReplyDeleteHope the potty pics works for Matthijas. It's a work in progress here. Mostly a weekend project, but a I figured what the heck.
