Fertility Godesses

We overpaid for very little time on the island of Crete and only managed to see the Palace. We had about 20 extra minutes on the island after the tour and that was all. The whole time we at the Palace we heard, "This is a fake, this is a replica" and that all of the real stuff was at the museum. In our only fortunate encounter with a Greek museum the entire trip, we heard that the museum was being renovated so they had housed all of the most important pieces in one room. So we ran down (well I waddled) down the road and we paid our 4 Euros and snuck in to see these pieces (the murals, jugs, statues, etc). The two Snake Queens below are some very early and hence important pieces that are often discussed in Art History and Mythology classes.
