The World's first Theatre

The world's oldest paved road leads here, to the theater of the Palace of Knossos. Unfortunately there were no great Greek plays being performed here. This is where people gathered for public ritual sacrifices, many animal but some human. A great pre-cursor for the Roman amphitheatres to come later with their gladiator sports and the feeding of Christians to lions.
