As we were driving back from Karatepe we pulled off the side of the road to see Hieropolis. Matthijas was just about to fall asleep, and since he hasn't been sleeping lately we decided not to get out and walk around, though we may come back a different Saturday. Hieropolis was an ancient Roman city. There is a colonaded street, a theatre, baths and a newer fortress built by the Crusaders on the hill top.
