Johannes' grandpa had been stationed in Turkey in the Air Force in the 1960s and it is sort of considered to be the golden years of their family time. He passed away a few months ago and was never able to come back, though from what I heard at the end he was known to speak a bit of Turkish now and then. When Johannes' mom came she brought pictures of her dad and took them with her to a few sites so he could visit them with her. We got a letter from Grandma Jeannie that said that she felt like Grandpa's was "gone" from her while Christie had him travelling Turkey with her. Here are the kids taking Grandpa for a dip in the Mediterranean.
