Matthijas is still just a little guy, but I think if he could chose a profession he was well suited for it would be a Turkish rug merchant. He loves to help the men unroll the rugs and lay them out and walk around them and then roll them back up. People here are very tolerant of children and don't mind him rolling around testing out the merchandise.
He also is interested in watching the women at the looms. At this shop they let him get an up-close look at a loom.
