One of the very few interesting things that are in the city of Adana is the Sabanci Mosque. It was built by a very wealthy family from the area as a stop on the way to Mecca. It has a huge garden area where people were supposed to be able to stay for a few nights on their pilgrimage to Mecca. However, due to a lot of politics there won't be a bunch of Muslims trekking through on their way, but there is still a beautiful mosque standing and they are beginning to finish the gardens. The Sabanci is the largest mosque in all of Turkey and larger than most in the Middle East.
