1000 year old olive tree

In the New Testament and in Jacob 5 of the Book of Mormon there is a whole lot said about the olive tree. Having grown up in Central California I understood a bit about what they looked like but most were very young trees. Even if I had seen one planted during the Gold Rush it would be nothing compared to the olive tree sitting peacefully in the square between the fountain and the mosque at Payas Castle. This particular olive tree was already 500 years old when the mosque was built in the 1500s.
