Johannes getting ready for Christmas

I know it sounds strange, but it's starting to feel like Christmas around here. There are more presents and packages floating around than you can shake a stick at, there are Christmas decorations on most of the office doors, Christmas trees in the halls, and the chow hall is all decked out with a huge snowman and red and green streamers.

Last night, when we were walking out of FHE, it was dark and there was a dust storm, but it was really cold outside, and the way the dust was blowing across the streetlights made the dust look really light-colored, and it looked like there were snow flurries. We all commented on it, and it reminded me of Chicago, the way we would look out the window, down at the streetlights in the dark to see if it was snowing, and because of the wind, the snow would be gusting through the light and into the shadows. This morning, I went running at 6am, and it was so cold that all of our knees were stiff, and it felt just like taking a run in Boise in December. I even had to wear a hat and gloves to go running.
