Then we walked down the street to the Notre Dame de Strasbourg. The cathedral is a classic Gothic cathedral, and one of the best examples of Gothic architecture I’ve ever seen. After the destruction by lightning strike of St Olaf’s Church in Tallinn, Estonia in 1625, the cathedral in Strasbourg was the tallest structure in the world until 1874.
